CARTA Fares Well For Year

Good news for the Charleston Area Regional Transportation Authority means good news for the congested Lowcountry. Not only did CARTA just end its fiscal year with a $17,000 surplus, it also saw ridership increase about 22 percent. In September, ridership topped the next highest September (2001) by more than 52,000.
